Why Create Digital Age Learners? (ONLINE WORKSHOP)

Did you know our state adopted new standards for technology integration? We did, and luckily the standards are familiar because they follow the ISTE standards for students. Explore the why for integrating technology integration standards while participating in Jamboard and gamification with Gimkit. At the end of the session, you should be able to find the standards, understand the why behind the implementation of the standards, and have a familiarity with Jamboard.

This workshop will be presented virtually. All log-in information will be provided prior to the workshop.

Intended for all K-12 teachers. Please come prepared with a personal Google account to access our Classroom.

About the presenter: Shelly Stanton is in her 10th year as a technology integration specialist in Montana, prior she taught for 12 years. She's a National Board Certified Teacher, Google Certified Innovator, Authorized Google Trainer, Code.org facilitator, PBS Digital Innovator Lead and All-Star and most importantly an experienced classroom teacher. She was named Montana's Business Teacher of the Year (2012) and Montana Association of Career and Technical Teacher of the Year (2013), State Teacher of the Year finalist (2016). She is a self-proclaimed GEEK and believes in FAILing forward as a lead learner.

Math Diagnostic Grades K-12

Presenter - Rhonda Birnie REGISTRATION is open on the WMCSPD Registration page. Virtual Sessions Jan 27, Feb 24, March 10, 2022 (sessions are 4pm to 6pm)    Session 1 In session 1 we will explore the GLOSS math diagnostic and learn how to give the diagnostic to students. Participants will have all the materials to give the diagnostic to a student between sessions 1 and 2 and bring the information with them to session 2. Session 2 In session 2 we will analyze diagnostics given to students. We will determine what the diagnostic tells us about a student’s mathematical understanding and troubleshoot any issues that came up when giving the diagnostic to students . Session 3  In Session 3 we will plan intervention instruction using the information from the diagnostic assessment. We will analyze intervention materials and develop a 30-day plan for our targeted students.

Participants will identify three priority practices for their own classrooms, explore all eight practices, and create an action plan for immediate implementation.
